Who We Are
Paano Ibinalita is a non-partisan, independent media monitoring platform dedicated to promoting media literacy and transparency in Philippine political news coverage. We automatically aggregate news articles and YouTube content from major Philippine outlets — from mainstream broadcast networks to digital-native publications — and use AI to analyze coverage patterns, detect bias signals, and measure sentiment.
Our platform is not limited to election periods. We track how Philippine media covers politics, governance, policy, and public figures year-round. We do not tell you what to believe. We show you the data transparently and empower every Filipino to think critically and decide for themselves.
What We Do
We aggregate content from all sources automatically
News articles from RSS feeds and YouTube videos are continuously pulled from major Philippine outlets — mainstream and digital-native, national and regional.
We use AI to analyze every article
Machine learning models analyze each piece of content for sentiment, content type, misinformation signals, and AI-generation patterns. All labels are automated, not editorial.
We measure how each source covers personalities and issues
Using sentiment analysis and coverage frequency, we compute balance scores for every media outlet — showing you which sources cover topics fairly and which skew toward certain framings.
We empower Filipinos to think critically
All data is presented transparently. No spin, no agenda. We give you the tools to evaluate media coverage for yourself.
What We Are NOT
How Our AI Works
Sentiment Analysis: We use AI to estimate whether an article's coverage of a personality or issue is positive, negative, or neutral. This reflects the language used in the article — not our editorial opinion.
Content Classification: Articles are classified by type (news report, opinion, press release, interview, investigative, vlog, commentary) to help you understand the nature of the coverage.
Misinformation Signals: Articles are scored based on signals such as sensationalist language, unverified claims, and known misinformation patterns. Flagged items are labelled for your awareness, not removed.
AI-Generated Content Detection: We use probabilistic models to estimate whether text was likely written by an AI. This is experimental and should not be taken as absolute truth.
Our Sources
We aggregate content from major Philippine news outlets, regional publications, YouTube channels (TV networks and independent creators), and official government channels. You can explore coverage balance and per-source analytics on our Sources page.
